Tuoshan Valley, southwest of Ningbo, will be developed as a new tourist centre aimed to attract visitors from all Zhejiang Province. Landscape, Culture and relaxation will be values to promote by the new development.
We were requested to participate in the design of a residential complex of 25 hectares.
Our proposal offers a variety of living arrangements based on different relations of the user with the surrounding landscape. Three different types of buildings:
The Patio Villas are a series of two floors L shaped villa opened to their own private garden.
The Linear Blocks apartments have large south-facing terraces with an intense relation with the garden between the buildings. The blocks are surrounded by an artificial extension of the greenery of the valley. Amongst the trees there’ll be some communal facilities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, etc.
Finally, the towers will be related to the mountains and the distant landscape. To avoid the urban character of the building type, the towers will be very slender. They will have a very small plan with at most two apartments on each floor.
The combination of the three building types -three ways of living- allows us to create different densities of urban landscape.
